DREAMING
OF NATURE

Impressions in oil and acrylic

One of the most wonderful things is to observe and perceive nature. Breathing in the moist air of a forest shortly after it rains, or letting the waves play around your bare feet on the beach, or simply watching clouds as they continually reform in the sky and finally pass by. Mind and soul calm down, slow down and can recover.

In observations of nature time plays a decisive role. Even if a photo conveys that something is still, in nature this is not possible. In my pictures I want to make this change visible. Similar to what Impressionism has done with capturing the moment, the mood or the incident of light. To the viewer of my paintings, the beauty and transience of the moment should be made clear. My pictures are meant to stimulate dreaming and offer a break from everyday life when contemplating them, just a little dreaming of nature.

Memories

When do you start dreaming? When you watch the waves reflect on the ocean floor in the sunshine? Or stand by a stream and, lost in thought, listen to the sounds of the water huddling against the boulders? Or did you feel protected by the canopy of leaves in the forest? Or did you enjoy the thrill of speed, only being able to perceive the passing landscape in a shadowy manner on a train ride?  Would you like to remember these moments again and again?
